what are peoples opinions of cheltenham gags

I think they're brill, my pony is normally quite steady so is ridden in a snaffle at home. At Pony Club rallies he can sometimes be a bit speedy. We've tried endless bits but this one is definetely the best. I like it because it's a snaffle bit until he starts being silly. He tends to lean on the bit and I find this bit to really help

God send, the only thing I can safely hunt my coloured lad out in, the only true gag action can be got with a Cheltenham, plus the snaffle mouthpiece makes it a good comprimise.

Cheltenham gag all the way!! Its the only bit I can stop my little coloured mare in out hunting - otherwise we end up in the next county when she finally decides to stop!!

Its working well for me atm, but don't want my boy to get too used to it, and it not work, so thinking about trying a myler combination as well.
