Sorry to hi-jack, but also how much can you feed and which ones are best sunflower hearts (no shells) or Black ones in shells (already aware that you should feed the black ones and not the stripey ones).
They are good for feet, coat and also have a high magnesuim level which can be calming in some horses! You feed approx 2 mugs a day and the black ones with shell on! I had some links given to me by Theresa F
All of us people who use black sunflower seeds were given a firm wrap on the knuckles from some members on here ..... apparently other members are not intelligent enough to figure out what to feed their horses and we were apparently not being good role-models by encouraging them to feed their horses these "things"!!
Anyway, here are all the links that were provided last time - HHO Previous Thread
*DISCLAIMER* Please do NOT feed your horse anything that you haven't checked out properly.......hmm raises an interesting question - do we know what is actually in those Pony Cubes everyone seems to feed???
Since taking your advice, my boys have beautiful soft glossy coats, great feet and love the BSS.
I read all the interesting info you provided and came to the conclusion that if yours are all looking good and still standing up, plus the info made sense, then I would try them.
I now feed them a large mugful a day and they love them.
As mine are doing well, I have told others about them and they have reported good results with feeding them.
They still neigh and don't whistle yet though......
