What are the problems you face with stabling?

Hi everyone,

I am currently conducting some research on issues that horse owners face with stabling their horses, whether it concerns the actual structure of your stalls, stereotypies etc, and how you would want them to be solved by a stable designer. It will only be used to gather an understanding for possible solutions. I would really appreciate any feedback anyone has (it doesn't have to be very long, even one or two sentences will do!) :)

Thank you!

I think one of my biggest hates is that horses can not "graze" in the stable. Haynets and bars etc have them standing still.

damp walls - they drive me insane
Himalayan Salt licks - it would be great if there was some manufactured holder for them that you could bolt onto the wall as the rope design is a nightmare, once they get licked so far the salt breaks apart and ends up in the bed.

My pet hate with 'standard' stables is they are too small and dark (often lacking ventilation too). I've been lucky and have always had larger than average stables where I've kept mine but I've seen loads that I wouldn't be happy putting mine in.
