What are they called???

Hi All,
My friend was talking about some straps that attach your stirrups to your girth to help secure your lower leg position. They are meant to be used when schooling. She said they have velcro that would come apart in the event of a fall?
Does anyone have any idea what they are called, and where I might find some?
