I'm off to a local show today, a Christmas one, first in MONTHS as I've been just too busy, plus my mare was having issues in the summer, but £1,000 at the vets later we have cracked it. Sooo of course I've also trying to get her back to some sort of decent fitness level.

The show today will see me scuttling over tiddly jumps (can't push me mare too much too soon bless her...) in my santa kit, with the poor horse dripping in bells, tinsel and antlers...OH, she looks hugely furry too, as haven't had the opportunity to clip again....

...but FLIP! It's a tad chilly this morning....! All me winter woolies are being pressed into service....

I'm also taking a flask of hot tea....gotta be economical in these difficult times!

:D

Hacking probably. Put a rug on the cob last night to see if it will irritate his chest or not now that the abscess is nearly gone, if it's OK then I will be attacking him with the clippers!

Have fun DS! Sounds ace :)

I'm going to take my own out ride and lead in a minute and then I'm going to ride with some HHO peeps. Must be mad signing up for two lots in this weather!!

I should really clip BH a second time too as he's hunting next week but I won't because it's a hideous job!

I shall mostly be repairing the electric fence from the remnants of the 'hurricane' as the tail end of it seemed to hit my steep field, I bodged it back up in the week but need to sort it properly in daylight

Will then ride my two and then another horse that I'm hoping to compete with soon :)

I'm working until 1pm. My three are all out naked, and are filthy with dried on mud and bog. I intend to give them all a hug, and that's about it! Long days at work at the moment, somedays both morning and evening checks are done in the dark, so daylight gives me the chance to look at them properly. Once we've moved our business and settled into the new premises, I'm thinking to start riding again at the end of Jan/early Feb. At 19, Harley won't kill me for a couple of months off!

DS - hope you gain a tinsel festooned rosette!

Hopefully will be going out for a spin , for some reason there is no shooting this saturday , i guess all the gun slingers have decided to do their xmas shopping today , anyway i.m not complaining , although it may just turn into a massive grooming session as both boys are livin out and resemble pigs!

sharer will be riding the big girl this morning and i'll be lunging the legs off daughters ponies;) teach the little sods that escaping and then refusing to be caught proves they have far too much energy and not enough work:D
Tomorrow daughter will possibly want to ride depending on how cold it is, she's a skinny piece so really feels the cold  going to favourite tack shop tomorrow as well to get her christmas pressies:D will be warm in there and so will my bank card;)

I need to finish clipping my boy. I started him earlier in the week, but my clippers bust part way through, leaving him looking a bit ridiculous. However, Jesstinsel has very kindly leant me hers, so I can hopefully spare him any further embarrassment :)

Enjoy your show.

It's a little bit nippy here this morning too, but the sun is shining and the sky is blue. -10C the thermometer said when I came in for breakfast 10 minutes ago, time to turn the trough heaters on me thinks.

As for what I'm doing, with the horses - nothing, until we get some decent snow cover the ground is too rutty to ride on.

Otherwise, the to do list has 'build duck run' and 'finish off run in shed' on it. :) Deep joy ...and I can't find the hammer.

nothing :p He's got a sinus infection/lump on neck so he's resting and recovering. Once he's got over that he'll come back into work.

nothing horsey this weekend :( managed to wangle two days off this week from the event yard so drove the two hours home last night to see the fam after a 13 hour day on the yard with no radio in my car -_- pony is still at work causing mayhem no doubt but not nearly as much as shes likely to cause on monday when she has to be ridden again! everything is feeling a bit fresh this week some of the eventers are coming of their holidays and my usually placid little horse has turned into a complete lunatic out hacking but is being a complete babe in the school so can't complain much! am exceptionally envious of all you guys out riding this weekend! Have Fun! instead i will be supervising my sister 'having a few friends over' and trying to convince them whilst it is entertaining to drink large quantities the morning after is not so entertaining!!

Got the OS map out and went exploring on our own. Just moved to the area and had a fab time, been out for nearly 3 1/2hrs - don't think I will ever get the feeling in my feet back again! Ned now very tired, and snugged up in big rug, deep bed and with a large hay net.
Will go back down in a bit to check and feed him. Then back home for a hot bath and a glass or two of pink wine in front of the open fire!

I got a 4th, and a special rosette as I did one class as a clear round, didn't have anyone with me to leg it to do the next fun round, dropping pressies off at each jump as they went...!

The class I got the 4th in was hilarious, I had to jump off, put a pressie in santas sack, put a carrot out for Rudlolf and also a cake for Santa....

I ended up knocking the cakes all over as I struggled back on board but Tia then rose to the occasion and we steamed off to do a selection of jumps on a list that 'Santa' had left...

No pics i'm afraid as it was me on me lonesome with the neddy today..

Met Daisydo for the first time which was great! :D

Only just got home, what with needing to sort the other 3 horses as well when I got back....

My mare was VERY HAPPY to be out and about again, talk about getting excited and a spurt of speed on!

Depending on weather tomorrow, off out for a hack with me sister.

:D

Sausage, eggs, chips and beans for tea.
