Following on from the other feeding post I was just wondering what people are specifically feeding their youngsters now?

Mine is an ID/TB 3 y/o filly, I suspect getting on well towards 16.3 and weighing 600kg on the weigh tape.

She has Adlib haylage for the 6 hours she is in, a stubbs scoop of HiFiLite and 350g of Equilibra.

I am about to start feeding Magnesium after some consideration and she has Electrolytes if she sweats heavily (she is a bit of a sweaty girl!)

I am interested to see how others compare :)

Thanks

I have a 14,2 rising 5yr old breed unknown & at the moment he is only having a small feed when he has been ridden as he is in a different field at the moment to give ours a rest so he doesn't really need a feed. So when he does get a feed all he gets is a small handful of HiFi Lite, pony nuts & some garlic.

This is how he currently looks...

No hard feed.

My girl's tb x, 3yo.
She has token hay (literally a few strands) when the others are fed. Hard feed was about 2 x weeks over winter and just a handful of chaff with garlic.
Tb 4yo is still on haylage and hay, only fed for the others in the field and will be rationed very soon as seems to live off air.

Both more over than under. I was warned off tb's for hard to keep weight on and yet ours seems to keep weight too well on air!

2yo tb x wb is on haylage and hay to keep steady.

All will get a token garlic and chaff if doing anything. Carrots are fed a fair amount and they will do anything for them.

Edit: Forgot to say they are all out 24/7 all year.

Erm... 2 1/2 yr old ISH about 16hh.

He gets a stubbs scoop of Hi-Fi Original, NAF general purpose vits and mins, garlic and D&H Itch-Free and sugarbeet to wet down. He's out at grass 24/7 and gets a bucket of ready grass when he's looking miserable. ;)

Other than that nothing much really, he's not doing any work just yet and this keeps him just right. :)

My rising 2 gelding, gets 2 feeds a day, a small scoop of allen and page calm and condition and a big handful of alpha a, he lives out 24-7 and is only about 400kg at the moment.

He's 15'2 at the moment and a conny x tb - we have a fair amount of grass but he could still with putting a bit more weight on, as you can still see his ribs! (he had worms when I got him 2months ago)
