my two elder brothers have both got warm, smart jumpers.

my step dad has a dvd he has wanted for a while and a gift voucher for HMV.

My dad, so far nothing but im going to go and get him something today, probably clothes.

So excited about all my pressies this year.

I got my friends who is a huge NFL fan an official Ravens tee from the states.

My other friend I was meant to be getting tickets for her to see Swan Lake but they cancelled the show so I'm a bit stumped for her right now.

For my BF I'm getting him an engraved zippo which looks very nice and possibly some tickets to see his favourite band (he is the worst person ever to buy for. :p)

For my mum juts bits and bobs like ornaments, a nice hat, some nice winter gloves.

My dad has got slippers, books and an itunes card.

For my grandma I adopted her a panda and she accidently opened it early but she absolutely loved it so I'm very pleased about that but off to find her something else so she has something from me to open on christmas.

I'm stumped for my sister, we've not been on best terms lately so I want to get her something she'll like, might get her a gift card to new look as she needs some new clothes and loves new look but worried it looks like a panic buy.

For my doctor who crazy friend I've got him the annual and a tardis mug plus a puzzle box with something inside, you have to solve the puzzle to get the present so I hope he'll like that.

Koko, if you know her size and style and have enough spare cash a pretty top and the vouchers might be nice?

I can't say what I've got my family as they all frequent these boards! But I am so happy with all my choices, especially my dad's and I hope he really likes it :)

My 'sharer' (has her own horse now but we still share hay, chores etc) had olympia for joint birthday and xmas from me as we are both skint, me having 3 horses and her being at school and paying for her own horse. I'll find her a little something though. :)

My horsey friend that I buy for (has been my bessie since I was 7 so she deserves something!) has got a borstiq farm flick brush and I'll top her up with chocolate or something.

She's the only horsey person I buy for.

My stepdad has new leather slippers, I am desperately trying to find my mum a nice table lamp for about £100. All the ones I like are £250+
OH has a new coat although I'll find some bits and pieces for him too. O and my little bro is getting a new mp3 player from my mum so I've bought him a 32GB micro SD card. How boring! Might try and find something a bit fun to go along side it.

OH is getting a camcorder, I got a good deal from the Avon book, only £30 if you spent a certain amount.

It may not be the best one, but he is not a techi and he will think is spent a fourtune.

For mums and sisters I have made candles, using old tea cups and melting down wax and adding scents and colours. A really inexpensive present, and home made :)

Mum I havnt got any thing for yet but dads booked a day off work when I'm back from uni so we are going shopping.

The pony however has loads of stuff . He has some leg wraps as he has clipped legs some new tendon boots and 2 numnahs from me and mums getting him a matchy set, a high vis exercise sheet and will probably also give him tonnes of treats .

Some great ideas to pinch:

My mum = a DAB radio
My dad = a hat he saw from Estribos at Burghley
My man = fire flint, plectrum making punch/stamp (!) & some stuff not yet brought
My sister = we've opted not to buy for each other this year
My daughter = a months loan of a pony at her lovely local stables :D plus a big multi picture frame and a selection of pony photos of her to choose from to put in the frame.

Bah humbug lol

The lasted meaning is the birth of christ, but some form of festivity has happened around this date for many thousands of years.

So I guess you can still enjoy no matter what your persuasion!!!

Winter solstice is 22 december - way predates xmas.

For me it's a convenient day to celebrate family and the idea of faith in something.

All horsey, non horsey and family are getting home made chutneys, christmas cakes, cheese straws and lots of nice edible things, they seem to apreciate them

Apologies for massively OT question - but how do you package up your cheese straws for pressies? Am wanting to add extras to the jam/chutney/marmalade overload, but without buying crazy expensive boxes and tins to wrap them in!

I am also an atheist. Christ does not figure in my holiday celebrations. I just view it as a lovely chance to treat those I hold dear and spend time with people I rarely see. It is incredibly convenient as everyone is on holiday. I would happily have an 'I love you guys' day where I did all the crimbo stuff without the xmas tag but there is no other time of year where EVERYONE is on holiday so I make the most of it. I don't believe this makes me a hypocrite as I never say I believe the nativity story, but if you do that is, of course, your prerogative :)
