What are your Aims?

Bit of tilting practice, hopefully will become more accurate (well I can hardly become less accurate :o ). YO is currently in Denmark competing in the world champs so hopefully will be able to give some instruction.

I was going to have a crack at polo ring tilting at the weekend :D I fear my hand eye co-ordination could do with a lot of work first though!

NMT/CS my standard competitive aim is "not to die". Anything else is a bonus :D

A couple of the Danish riders that taught us put a video up recently - using 4mm rings :eek: And yes, they were hitting them consistently!

I'm still struggling with the easiest 24mm ones :o

Oh it's really nice reading other people's aspirations :)

I don't really have any clear aspirations for this year, but I would like to get the young man out to have a mooch around a few shows, and maybe partake in the odd dressage test. I would also like to get him hacking out a reasonable distance on his own, because he's confident over a short distance at the moment and I feel like I'm overdue trying him on a longer run.

To do a BE90. Did my 1st 80 at Chepstow last weekend. 1 very silly stop XC (he NEVER stops!) when he spooked at a fence judge - I think because she was standing up when all the others were sitting down (yes he's that dappy!). We're going to do one more 80 (not sure where yet, if anybody has any nice suggestions in South West or southern Midlands - no more that 2hrs from Cardiff!) and if we get round that clear I'm aiming for West Wilts 90 in September. Really annoying that they don't have an 80 at their August one but they do in Sept. If I can't get to an 80 before I'll do the 80 at WW and at Howick next spring to get going again and aim for a 90 next summer.

The other goal is to get over my fear of galloping down hill - 27 time faults at Chepstow and only a few of them due to the stop. Most were because I can't make myself let him go flat out down a hill since I had a very nasty fall as a teenager. I'm terrified of the two of us ending up in a heap. Deliberately choosing West Wilts as I've been told it's flat isn't really going to help either!

Mine was to get her going under saddle over winter but it's been bought forwards and have already done it :)
Now my only aim is to have a bit of fun and slowly bring her on, maybe a little dressage in winter depending how it's going
