Tonight my 22yo fully clipped (apart from legs) tb is in 3 MW rugs, one with a filled neck cover and one rain proof neck cover, and one normal. Usually she has the 2 MW's one with neck cover and one without neck cover but tonight it's going to be freezing!! (and she's out in the field !)
My two chaser clipped tbs are in the field tonight with middleweight waterproofs on, one has a neck cover and one just has a highish neck. Probably should have put heavys on but I think they'll live.
My trace clipped TB is wearing a 200gm stable rug with a Weatherbeeta sandown on underneath. He has a blue saxon fleece aswell.
In the field he either has a MW joules weatherbeeta, or a blue masta combo with a rug on underneath. He also has a HW blue combo T/O and a john whitaker stable rug, which is HW, plus a good old duvet
my girly has a 250g with neck over night (when she is in), but last week did a late night check and she was v.hot so took off the neck.
And out in the day she has 250g half neck on and if she stays out overnight she has a LW stable rug under that.
We had one really chilly night and rain when she was out and i put on her 450g turnout with neck. but if i'd left that on any later than 8am she would of been sweating.
she has a high blanket clip also.
My fully clipped TB is wearing Rambo Duo T/O with 200g liner and neck cover in the field during the day and a 300g Amigo stable rug at night with no neck.
She is a much hotter horse than my Irish Draught and always needs fewer rugs than other horses.
