Inspired by the thread in CR, and the depressing weather here today, I'm already thinking ahead to next summer :)

So, what are your hopes and goals for 2011? Mine are:

Personal

- To get my dodgy shoulder fixed once & for all
- To keep expanding my business, with a view to leaving my day job to go full time on the business by the end of 2011
- To have a holiday! (Forgotten what those are like...;))

Horses

- To keep working on my young mare's flatwork over winter, and start jumping again (shoulder allowing)
- To enter RC ODE championships
- To improve on our results in this year's Dressage Series in 2011.

More than anything, I'd like my family & horse to stay happy & healthy.

Anyone else? :)

Oooooo good one...

Personally: Stay healthy and in love!!!! (cheese):D
Hope the police start recruiting again so i can join.

Horses:

Compete Lady in dressage and get to a ok standard at Novice before the end of the year. (only 4 yrs)

Take her to her first BE80(T) at the end of the season :D

Go back to the Dorset County Show with her and do the Riding Horse class sensibly. ;)

To pass all my uni courses and to get lots of orders from work...orders=commission=money to go to shows=happy TelH :D

To go to more dog shows with Alice Springer and maybe start regular agility training :) And to coninue improving my rescue dog George's behaviour problems so he will be able to go to a show too :)

And ponies...Got 2 youngsters who will be showing for the first time next season...also hoping to do more vhs showing with my old girl who will be 27...hopefully some county shows with the Shettie and the Forester...just lots of showing and hopefully lots of rosettes :D

Personally: to stay in one place! Fed up of being a Nomad.
Holiday with OH on our own, not visiting family (unlikely)

To find the horse of my dreams. Hopefully get out and do some SJ on said mystery horse

Personally -
1. to get my marriage happily patched up :(
2. to get out of my shitty job and find something I love (unlikely) like being a rich lady!

Horse -
1. to eliminate unecessary outbursts!
2. to get out and bout sj, ode, local showing, bit of dressage - generally have fun :D

- To get a trailer
- To take Tilly out XC
- To get out to a few local competitions (Dressage, SJ, Hunter Trial)
- Back Fidley

Lots to do.... Busy Summer.....

- To take my BHS Stage 2
- To take my youngster out cubbing next season
- To compete both of the boys in some Riding Club Competitions over next summer
- To move up to Novice Level Dressage

:)

My goals are:

Get my arm/shoulder healed after a fall two weeks ago
Get back on a horse again - learn to mount properly from the ground! (the cause of the stupid fall)
Continue riding and improving
Get a permanent job (after redundancy last april)
Try to rebuild my confidence.
Once i'm secure in my job, buy my own horse after years of longing.

Get some bloomin' luck come my way!

Horses
- Move Allie down south to put her hooves up/become a field plodder.
- Get around to getting the new 'oss. Scary business.
- Start enjoying the new partnership
- Have fun!

Personal
- Get a jog-a-long with dissertation ideas/research.
- Find a new job...
- Stop buying shoes.
- Have fun!

Personal:

To progress where I currently work or to find a new job with better prospects (basically earn more money!)

To try and get out and be more sociable (get a wider social network - would love to find a man!)

Pony

Hopefully by the end of 2010 we will have achieved canter!

Then....I would like to do our first prelim dressage and our first ridden showing class by the end of 2011. In my wilder dreams I would also like to do our first novice affiliated ridden showing class. Also to jump our first jumps!

But mainly I want to get through our first winter and enjoy another summer! :D

To complete a 160k endurance ride with my older mare (although she is slightly unsound at the moment and of course I've gone through all the worst outcomes in my head!).

To take my youngster on a couple of pleasure rides and possibly her first competitive ride by the end of the summer.

My goal is to be riding to a nice standard for 2011 and go down one of two possible avenues.

First! there is a college near us that has an equine course. It's a 2 year course. They bring your riding forward and give you the Irish equilvilent to the BHS qualification.

However, the first year is focused on practical things such as stable management and riding. The second year is based a good while away in another college doing computers and business things with one day a week practical in the first years college.

The pros to the college course is, i get a qualification at the end of it and it has an optional 3rd year to go on and get a higher level degree in the business aspects of the equine industry. It seems to be more aimed at management and stud farms.

The second option, is to find work at a yard. I want to eventually go out and compete horses. I have an instructor who is trying to teach me to a high level. I intend, with this option, to go for my BHS exams, have something behind me, and build a name for myself through working at the yard. I realise it would be a long and hard path but it's something i really want to do. I know, if i'm dedicated enough, I'll get there...

I just need to learn to ride first!

Thats my aim for 2011!

Personal:

Get a job
Get good grades in college
Pass my driving test
Pass my BHS Stage 1 [I can do all the stuff, just not always in the BHS way ;)]

Horseriding:

Master shoulder-in
Jump 2'6" -2'9" confidently
Start to enjoy XC & hacking in scary fields

Personally;

Finish recovering from second ankle operation!
Possibly take a sales course or Find a full time job!
Trade in my little 206 for a freelander!

Horse;

Start competing BD at novice
Start jumping again!
Possibly go hunting next season

But mainly to enjoy myself, and to have s full summer with my horsey, :)

Personal:
Pass driving test and get a car
Begin plans for my business
Further my education

Horse:
Back the spotty!!! (God feels like only 5 minutes i was introducing the 5 month old tiddler to the forum)
Get Otti out to more shows
Get Bonnie right.

x

*At least 2 novice dressage tests (so double this year)
*Qualify for Interdressage Intemediate championships and actaully take part in championship show
*Do a pleasure ride
*Do some showing, hoping for some different shows further afield
*Gain my UKCC Level 2
*Pass BHS Stage 3

One for everyone .......
Hope and pray for a short winter, a long summer and an amazing hay crop!!!!

Get married in July!
Lose a stone so my wedding photos look good!

Do xc without horsey losing the plot.
Keep jumping 2'6 and maybe go higher, and even win a rosette or two for sj.
Make another set of jumps to go with the ones I made this summer.
Have a go at endurance.
Persuade horsey that its ok to put his feet in the sea, it's not a huge horse-eating monster.

That horses/ponies are treated fairly at markets.
That it is their RIGHT to have water/hay/bedding at all times at the above.
Live transportation of slaughter horses comes to an end
Indiscriminate breeding isn't rewarded.
Feral/semi-feral/moorland/forest/hill ponies are monitored...and the "Farmers" are discouraged from breeding from them...by paying a hefty "foal tax".

To see any of the above "improved" would be a bonus TBH.

So for now, i shall just keep banging the drum through campaigning and complaining!

Oh that's a good one. If I can ever be of any assistance then please let me know!

* That friends, family, OH and Bailey stay happy and healthy
* That Bailey's backing goes smoothly and without a hitch!
* That I master my confidence issues (already improving) and Bailey and I have a fun year striking up a riding partnership - with the emphasis being on fun!
* I pass my LPC
* I find a better paid job, with a training contract, where my hours are as near to 9-5 as possible and I don't spend my week nights/weekends on call at a Police Station!
* That I have a better, less stressful year where I worry less and focus on enjoying life!

I really really hope Bailey's backing goes smoothly and we don't have too many issues...I've been looking forward to riding him for the first time for so long...I'm beginning to get butterflies!
