ok my horse is mess as hell, i take out 3 wheelbarrow a day with him on straw. the YO has said we can only use straw or something like straw i.e happy jack due to the farmer that takes our muck heap. so what do you recommend i will have rubber matting and i don't mind a minimal bed. also i hate the smell that the straw is putting on everything.

a friend of mine has this same problem and she just uses rubber matting nothing else

Nedzbedz is very good, it is chopped straw with a treatment on, my horse is very dirty and she is clean on it without rubber mats and now even cleaner with rubber mats

If your YO will let you, I ditto rubber mats with minimal bedding; just have a pee-patch in one corner and clean that out daily. It's MUCH quicker, easier and saves bedding. Shop around for mats, they don't have to break the bank. Honest!

I have just ordered some rubber matting. Other than that, I use shreaded paper - Very absorbent and cheaper than shavings!!

Yep, even think I paid a little less than that per mat and got free delivery as well! Laid them myself and haven't looked back. They were very heavy to hump about and lay, but once down, brilliant! Would be without them, or my HayBar!

It's a company based in Braintree, Essex but believe they deliver all over. boot-liner.com. email them directly for a delivery quote if you're buying a load. Ours are coming next week - hopefully an easier winter

megazorb is fab if you have matting it absorbs all the urine and the smell .pooh stays dry on the top.i used it as deep litter which is how it is intended to be used but its expensive with my filthy beast.ideal on rubber £5.00 a bag normally you would only need one a week.

Hi, we use Aquamax, much better than anything else we've tried and works out cheaper. You use about HALF a bag a week google horsezz for details...great on matting or concrete
