what behaviour/habit can you not abide!

Horses that nudge you in the stomach. Ouch!

My friends pony used to do it all the time and she thought it was cute until one day his head made contact with her head during one of his 'friendly nudges' :(

Other than that horses that wont load. . . Wont be caught. . . general lack of manners.

Bolting, kicking, not being caught, rearing, cribbing, wind sucking, not loading, not being good in 99% traffic, barging, biting, weaving, door kicking, box walking (my pony does this it drives me nuts), mareish behaviour, not standing still to be mounted, bucking, door kicking, being bad to shoe, napping, so pretty much all bad behaviour really :D

I think you can train a horse to have good manners and help cure vices, the only thing I really can't cope with is bolting.

Oh hell where do I begin.

Pawing-doorkicking-biting-kicking-rudeness-barging-striking-woodchewing-teethscraping-pulling back when tied-completey ridiulous over small things-refusing to load-won't stand still-don't stand for mounting-bolting-ducking through shoulder-cribbing-windsucking-boxwalking-breaking fencing-NOT BEING CAUGHT.....

Makes me sound over bearing....but I just expect general manners really.
My tb lad is a saint really, only thing he does is cribs, but easily sorted with a collar...he's perfect manners wise other than that :)

This.

Altohugh, windsucking doesn't bother me.
Biting is also at the top of my list ^^

pawing and door kicking drive me insane! I can't tolerate biting and kicking. I used to own a bargy horse and it drove me mad and it bugs me when my friend brings her horse over and ties it up and she stands there and tries to eat the wood around the window frames! Oh and head rubbing makes me growl.

rearing i do not tolerate whatsoever (ended up with punctured lungs due to last horse). current horses dont do this

pawing the ground and my youngster does it and drives me nuts!!

I cannot stand a horse with anything other than good behaviour on the ground.

I honestly think this is the basis for everything - if they don't respect you on the ground why would they respect you on their back?

I think I have picked this up off the lady I ride for as all of her horses are PERFECT to handle on the ground. They don't all arrive like this, and yes, I will resort to a smack if required, but it's worth it at the end of the day as there's no need for us (me and the horse!) to get stressed with each other and makes things so much more pleasant.

Owners who have no idea that their horse is rude and a mannerless pig and it is all due to them!

I hate that!

Maybe they dont no how to sort the issue so therefore avoid it!! Mine bites, not so much me but other people! And im always told to give him a smack but tbh what difference will that make apart from make them feel better and make a horse head shy etc!! I think as long as everyone is aware that the horse is bargy rude etc then its no one elses business how the owner deals with it considering its the owner who is dealing with the horse anywho!!

ps na meant in a bad way just my opinion :D

Horses that drag you abround or walk over you as if you aren't there when leading them, so rude! And the youngsters at our yard that get fed in the field, who imediately kick their feed buckets acrosse the field, scattering their dinner everywhere, drives me mad as it is such a waste they just trample most of it into the ground and leave it, then the pheasants have a field day pecking it all out!
