What bit for jumping?

I'm starting to do some jumping with my cob. For flatwork he is ridden in a french link hanging cheek snaffle and he goes really well in it. The only problem is that he works in a pretty constant outline in it which makes it harder to pick him up coming into the jump. He's a HW cob and can be a strong horse if he feels like but it is generally responsive- I'd like something that still gives me some control but that will also help me pick him up a little and stop him from dropping into an outline as we approach the fence.

My RI mentioned a copper roller but when I googled it there are tonnes options - eggbut copper roller snaffles, brandoons etc -I'm a bit lost when it comes to bits so can anyone make any recommendations?

keep it as simple as possible, I personally would keep to his normal bit and look more at riding differently to help him.

change his bit as a very last resort

My horse was in the same bit as yours but have just changed to a copper roller snaffle he goes so much better in it. I think it was the poll pressure my lad didn't like as the he like his standard french link, just not the hanging cheek. The copper roller just means he cant grab hold of bit and run for home when insecure!

Ditto or maybe try an even more mild bit rather than a stronger one.

I'm not looking for a stronger bit - control is not the issue. He has a lovely forward canter but coming into the jumps in an outline regardless of how forward the canter is causes problems as he's not always seeing the jump and often he'll drop his head further when he jumps which pulls me out of the saddle.
