My horse is coming back into work after injury and is very lively He doesnt like harsh contact so I am looking for a gentler bit.I am using french link aurigan at the moment.I have been looking at the myler bits but am unsure which one to buy.If he gets excited he can overreact if I try to hold him and will rear .This was why I am considering a gentler bit.I know he will calm down again but I also need something to help him round .Being a ex racer he can be a giraffe at times so I wondered if poll pressure rather than nutcracker action would be kinder.Any ideas anyone!!!!!!!

Loops is one name for them - they are holes in the bit rings that the reins and cheek pieces go through, holds the bit in place and applies a little poll pressure. the mouthpiece has a couple of options, but either way they have a centre barrel and independent sides - most horse seem to like and accept them.
This bit is not dressage legal - you would need to buy the same bit but without loops to do dressage

Thanks pics didnt show loops up very well so I assummed you attached bridle in regular way .I can see loops now .

Hi spoke to you earlier re bits .I bought a myler with loops and was just getting ready to start using it when someone on my yard told me it was a harsh bit.I was a little surprised as it has been described as similiar to french link and good for training but she thinks the loops apply lots of poll pressure.I noticed that you had experience re bitting and would like your opinion, the last thing I want to do is set my horse back as he just started working in a good outline and is now on the bit.Do you think the loops will make the contact too harsh, he is soft in the mouth and I have had to work hard to make him work into his french link aurigan.I would appreciate you feed back.
