I've always secretly fancied doing a bit of XC, but never had the horse or to be honest the balls for it.

Now my girl is going really well, I have a new instructor and I'm starting to think later this year I might have the confidence to do some baby cross country locally.

However, I have a horrible Rodney Powell body protector that I had about 6 years ago, and have never really worn as it is restrictive and uncomfortable.

What body protectors would people recommend without breaking the bank?

Thanks

They may be a bit more pricey but nothing beats Racesafe in my opinion! So comfortable and well worth the price I think. You might be able to pick up a cheaper one on eBay?

It is worth seeking out a shop which carries a decent range. For instance we carry Airowear, Rodney Powell, Racesafe & Point 2.
We often get people in who have been "fitted" elsewhere & feel like you do - their BP does not work for them. I can guarantee that they will leave us converted!
Sadly we are not near you as we are in Sussex, but if you ever visit Hickstead, pop along & see us - you won't regret it!

Don't buy one off Ebay - like hats they need precise fitting & you do not want to buy one if someone has already had a fall wearing it.

Longdog can you PM me whereabouts in Sussex you are please? I'm based in Surrey and will be looking to get a new BP soon as I've had my current one nearly 13 years but have struggle to find anywhere that stocks a wide variety to try on and don't want to order online.

Thanks!

I was also going to suggest racesafe, after having a nasty riding accident in one i've seen the protection they offer and won't ride without it any more! Not the cheapest, but well worth every penny. They are so, so comfortable, and very lightweight too.
