My gelding Mac has arthritis. He has pretty poor conformation, but is only used as a hack and is happy and comfortable, which is all that matters. The last 3 or 4 times he has been shod, within the first week, he has managed to pull the inside of one his hind shoes off! Farrier thought it was just because shoes were new and he is ok once shoes and hoof are worn slightly, but he pulled one again last night and he was shod about 3 weeks ago! He started brushing about 18 months ago, and wears brushing boots, but are there any boots I could put on him to prevent this shoe pulling? I will be speaking to Farrier again, but I am at work this morning so won't see him when he goes in to sort Mac out.

You could try over reach boots? Or you could try the Equilibrium Hardy Chaps as they come down over the hoof, but it depends on whether you want his legs booted up while he is in the field. Some rubber OR boots would probably help and they are quite cheap so if he damages them they are cheap to replace??
