What brand of wormer do you use?

Hi we use Equest & Equest Pramox, never had any problem with either

I need to worm my new horse (who is underweight) and wanted a reccomendation of what wormer to buy
 
At this time of year i would worm with pramox. That will cover you for tapeworm and a broad spectrum of other worms in one syringe. There is no comparable product.

Because its a new horse you dont know for definite if/how it has been wormed previously so i would use pramox because it covers alot of worms.

Also get its teeth checked (if you havnt already)
 
If you don't know your horses worming history you'd be better off using Panacur Equine Guard 5 day treatment. Its relatively gentle and if she has a burden will help them along without any problems. Then, all being well, use something like Pramox/Equimax/Eqvalan Duo 2 weeks later then start on a programme.
 
As Mairi said, the brand is irrelevant, you must go by the active ingredients.
It doesn't matter what ther people use, you must use what is right for your horse, and I would politely suggest you talk to an SQP or your vet.
 
Please don't use equest or pramox on an underweight or unwell horse, there is a lot of documented evidence that it can cause major problems. The reason it is 13 week wormer is because it is stored in the body tissue but an underweight horse will not have as much.
Ask your vets advice.

Yes but you should worm according to bodyweight anyway, so its all relative. The reason some horses have had problems is because they have a massive worm burden, so when they all die off they can cause blockages.

Panacur has so much resistance i wouldnt waste your money.

If the horse is severely underweight OP speak to your vet
