What breastplate/breastgirth?

I am after a nice looking, black leather/partial leather breast girth for my boy that I can also wear during dressage if needed.

Ideally something with a strap over the neck to hold onto when needed across country!

I bought a CK Equine/Freedom one second hand (supposedly full size) but sadly it is just too tight on him around his chest - and he isn't an overly built up type of horse, TB with 1/8 ID in him. It is beautiful and I love the anatomical design of it. The fact it can also has a martingale attachment is a bonus. I have seen it on the Old Mill Saddlery but it only comes in one size, which I find odd. Unless I am missing something?

So what brands do people recommend? Or do the plain simple elastic ones for £20 do the job in terms of helping prevent any saddle slippage when going across country or hunting?

is it this one you have? http://sjm-equestrian.co.uk/CKEquine-Breastplate
If so, i recentlt bought (almost) the same one, just from Passier and have seen another version of it here: https://www.kraemer.de/Vorderzeug-X-treme.htm?websale8=kraemer-pferdesport&pi=520100&ci=247507
The Passier one comes in only one size, and this is on the big side for my TB (needed a few extra holes) and fits my holsteiner, so i think it would fit the horse you describe.

Another option is this one https://www.loesdau.de/passier-vorderzeug-ingrid-klimke-58954.html (there is a cheaper version that is pretty much the same, just can't find it at the moment), if you mainly need the martingale and the strap to hold on to.

For preventing the saddle slipping I wouldn't recommend the 3-point/y-shaped ones. I had that on my fathers horse, and when the saddle did slip one day, it just pressed the front of the saddle down and thus the back end to go up. Couldn't ride on till I re-saddled the horse and that's no fun either on a hack or a XC course. That's why I got the passier one - anything tha isn't just attached to the top front of the saddle would do I guess, so I'd go with something like the Passier Auriga, PS of Sweeden high jump or just a regular 5-point (which would be the cheaper option I think).

Yes that is the one, and the reason you mention is why I want one that attached to the girth as much as the D rings on the saddle.

Will have a look at the ones you suggested. Thank you
