I bought Rambo as a ID cross Trakenher(sp?) but he has no papers etc so could be anything really! I just wondered if any of you had any ideas? He is 16.1.

Oh my god he looks exactly the same as a horse on my yard – apart from the fact he is a he! They have got the same fringe!

She is Irish tb

My Trakhener is a bit longer and leaner.

Grrrr, silly work servers block the piccies! and I love to see other trakehners!

Mine's half trakehner, and you'd never guess, he looks pure TB. I think Trakehner looks are very distinctive, but they don't always pass down the the part breds that way.

I would agree with that.

Though the huntsman has one that is very similar looking and I'd have laid down money that she was a TBxID but she's 1/4 suffolk punch and 3/4's TB. Just a thought.

He is exact same as a mare I owned a few years the build and colouring she was IDX TB On her papers. I would say that what he is.

The Trakehner has a huge dose of TB so a Trak x ID could come in as many variations as the TB x ID....its always possible.

The difference is though trakehners will always be very distinctive. BB's Snoopy for example, although only a part bred trak you can see it easily. I doubt very much if there is any trakehner in him.

That said he's lovely anyway!

My part bred Trakehner is by Roland, who's other offspring have had the very distinctive Trakehner look (eg the Godington stallions, inc Hannibal), but my gelding looks totally TB. Doesn't have the pretty eyes, or the face, or the build.......thinks like a Trak though!
People are normally gobsmacked when I tell them his breeding, because there's just no resemblance.
