Pixie is now 2 years old and whilst I have an idea of her breed (which is a guess!) I wondered what you all thought.

ETA - Forgot to say she's now just short of 14.2hh.

So here she is.......

Newfie cross i think.,..for some reason Haffie is springing to mind as the other half, but she hasnt got the build for it lol.

I thought this when I first saw her, she has confused me a bit on breeding and I am still not sure. but i think the haffie coz of her flaxen mane and tail and colouring but yes, she is too fine. but I am so in love with her, she has that lovely look about her.

So come on 3 beasties?? how is she bred?

Thank you all for your lovely comments, I'm really pleased with how she's growing up, especially as she was such an ugly duckling when she arrived.

I actually don't know for sure what breed she is, she was bought from a sale (not by me - I was her 4th home by the time she was 6 months old) and her passport just says that she is a 'Cob type' which could mean anything!

The people I got her from did mention that she may have some Arab in her, which I have struggled to believe................until she did this last week.......

And now I'm not so sure  Do you think there could be some Arab in there somewhere? :)

I did wonder this when I first saw the pics.. there's something a little araby about her face, but I put this off as either being a little bit welsh or newfie! xx

aww she is so lovely, I had a full welsh B and a Welsh cob cross both with tails that could do this and the Dished face also seen in arabs. think its coz on the four foundation breeds that created the breeds we see today, they had similar traits though lived in different climates.

i would say welsh, but normally i think a section d but might be a c. i do think she is a cross though with i am not sure. but she is lovely

we just go to the local show and go in mountain and moorland, ares have no papers.they will help you,we just bath and take ours natural and lead them in a bridle, cheat by making a lead rein with reins under bit, got placed and not many had all the correct in hand bridles on. Good fun and a day out that I enjoy watching. As I dont run them round. Have a go she is really pretty

My purebred tb did the arab tail very rarely, if very excited.

What area of the UK did she come from? A lot of people have suggested New Forest X, but finding one of those outside that area of England can be pretty difficult, so it's not a likely thing if she's not come from there originally.

Wilsha - Her passport just says she is a 'Cob type,' she came from a sale. I contacted the people who had her passported but they were no use as they had bought a load of foals as a job lot from a friend, got them all passported and then stuck them all in to the sale :(

MissSBird - She came from a sale on the Welsh borders.

I think she's welsh x, with a cocktail (ha ha!!)

Ok, wasn't funny I know.

She is gorgeous though, love that mane n tail.

About the tail, is it JUST arabs that do that? Just that my appaloosa x (not arab) does that quite a lot.
