A chunky PRE?

Could be a traditional Śląski type - they’re the only ‘light’ heavy I can think of - but they tend to have big ears. Also I doubt that film companies are in the habit of buying them.

Many of the horses used on TV are Iberian and Baroque types. Could very well be a PRE.

@Cortez any thoughts?
Could be anything, but deffo not a PRE. I think this one was filmed in Czech republic so could be that, or Romanian. It's not a Kladruby either (Czech breed, has pronounced roman nose profile). Dunno, nice horse though.

Yeah? I only thought PRE because one at my previous yard has a head just like that. Mine does not, but it reminded me a lot of that horse, and also another that was there. I personally cannot say what the horse definitely is or isn't. I am, however, going to look up a Kladruby now. I haven't heard of them before.

View attachment 81012 << Kladruber. Bay horse in OP's pic doesn't have a PRE head - eyes too round and placed too low; cheek too broad; ears too short and placed too wide: lots of things that are not Spanish. Pretty though :)

Which is what I'd usually say, but there are many "not Spanish looking" PRE's around here. Not "fusions" either. To me it's strange because I like a more traditional Spanish horse head. Some I've seen do have broad cheeks, which isn't my preference (can think of 4 that I know). This horse, upon further inspection, isn't a PRE, I think, but around here there are really some that look like that (the head).

I do love a good Roman nose.

Yeah. Well, what can I say? There are many not-Spanish-looking Spanish horses in the UK, because that seems to be what they like over there. Unfortunately some breeders in Spain are now breeding that sort of horse; can't blame them I suppose as they have to sell horses.....

Ah yes..

Buyer: Yes, I would like a Spanish horse that doesn't look like a Spanish horse. I'll pay.

Seller: Say no more.

?

Although someone did tell me mine was Spanish but not too Spanish o_O

Think it was actually filmed in Slough! Bit less exotic. Pretty sure horse is this guy

He's quite a dark bay, there are lots of them in the programme, all identical, huge bums, definitely a draught type, I'm in love! I'll try for a better pic, I'm going to binge series one tonight now that I haven't got to feed the neighbour.
