Hi, Have a look at this photo and tell me what breed you think he is? He's 12.2hh.

Also, what do you think of him confo wise for showing and, finally, what classes?

Does look like a m+m though, so could maybe do first ridden mountain and moorland etc that type of class. Depends on the show, ours has random extra classes.

Looks like a conamara, but arn'nt they bigger than that?
Native classes and m&m's, I think your have to find a breed book first though.

Have you thought of a M & M maybe a welsh? what is his movement like in front? usually a good vet would give you a rough idea!!!

onto showing issues.. well there arent any - nice weight and nice colourings also looks like he has good bone...
very pretty!

to be honest its what you want to do? if you want to do high level or local showing - he would be suitable for both, i would suggest starting at local seeing what judges think he is like and what they like about him and take it from there eg. if they like his colourings do a coloured class!

good luck!
PM me if you want any more info!

and i think they can be that small

shoulder seems quite upright imo, but it could just be the way he is stood.

must have papers for mm classes, if not show hunter and working hunter if nice enough jump

Ahhh thanks. LOL at the judging though! I think he's nice but not really into ponies so my knowledge is limited.

Daughter has NO clue, can't wait!

looks like a welsh B to me, smart pony, they oftenplait up very well for show hunter pony and riding pony classes - you will have some fun with him!!

Has to be under 12 hands for section a .

Also too small for a purebred connie .

whoops...thought it was 12.2hh

I'd say a B then

It isn't that common to find a purebred native mare put in foal to a different native breed stallion, if breeders are going to produce a part-bred foal it is usually half Arab or half TB.

Its colour is seen more often in Connies than Welshies but it doesn't look like an Irish head, much more Welsh B, and it's too small and fine to be a Connemara.
