As tread title suggests, would like to hear other opinions on what breed you think this pony is.

New forest? I cant see any welsh in there? Saying that my mare is 25% welsh and no one can see any welsh in her either :D

I am really surprised at the responses so far.

Picked up her passport from her owner tonight (shes on loan to me) and I had her down on my insurance policy as a completely different breed to what is listed in her passport

Will wait to see what others come back with before I say what I think she is (and my reasons) and what is listed in the PP.

Looks like new forest with some welsh c in their

I have a welsh c and face shape very similar

I have also had a new forest And she is built like my new forest show pony that I used to own

She is lovely by the way
She has a very kind eye

Well I'm rubbish at guessing things- but my guesses are maybe either Connemara
or a NF X Arab.

But i can see welsh too! very difficult- you'll have to put us out of our misery!

She's a lovely mare by the way- lovely colour!

Deffo has the NF shape poss abit of Connie?? Looks nothing like my sec C :)
Beware if she just has a generic passport - unless her passport is from a breed society don't rely on what's written in there!

Thanks for all the replies.

OK. I had her down as a Dartmoor - reason being that I have had one before and she looks / moves the same. I also have a Welsh A and they couldn't be more different (but then i have never had a Welshie before this year and don't really know a lot about them in terms of confirmation etc).

Passport states Welsh X

She is only 12.2hh.

If I can get her to pose properly I will try to get some more photos of her. She is just like a mini Freisian in her stance and colouring.

Am hoping to do some M&M in hand showing with her before the year is up and will try to ask the judge their opinion too. Was thinking of asking my vet for their thoughts but although I respect their medical opinions I don't deem them to be experts in horse breed types.

Does she have the green WPCS Passport? If so she can be shown affiliated as welsh PB - but the mane and tail would have to disappear - they are shown fully pulled, trimmed and plaited :)

No, she has a Pet-ID passport.

Regardless of whether she was a registered PB Welsh I wouldn't get rid of her mane, it's too nice (even if its a nightmare to keep tangle free ). I've done the plaiting thing and much prefer the 'natural' look, it's easier :D
