I'm showing my 2 year old chestnut hack this year and I'm not sure what colour browband to go for with him been a ginge xD I've heard green and gold is nice on them and I was also considering cream and gold? Has anyone got any photos so I can see? Thankyou :D

Arghhh  why did I have to get a ginge  oh well beggars can't be choosers. I guess it will have to be a trial and error game now. I have seen a nice cream, gold and black one on eBay from a well known browband seller there (not sure on the rules of posting ebay ads on here) Oh btw I'm quite willing to go blingy too to stand out in the show ring

I have to admit, I dont really 'do' showing but see a lot of chestnuts out eventing in baby blue which I think looks really nice, hence why my colours are as they are :) I also have my everyday bridle which is black with gold trim which really suits her. I just wish she could wear pink. I try to sneak it in to her pyjamas but that is for hers and my eyes only :P

Oh lord! Don't talk to me about PINK! My grandpa accidently put him in the wrong rug, it was the pony's next door....size too small, BRIGHT pink! Don't know if you've seen the film "It's complicated" or not but he looks like the guy Harley in his girlfriends pj's far too short and tight xD

I might have a look at some light blues as his rug and headcollar don't look too bad (better than the pink rug and purple headcollar) also seen a silver and black one which looks quite nice.
Thanks for the responses :)

According to colour theory, the most complementary colours are those which are directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. So, judging by the photo of your boy, you're looking for blue/light blue/teal.

I went for red and gold. :D

What about dark green? Or baby blue?

I have 2 gingers, one has green stuff and the other pale blue (not got browbands for them yet though).

I think any shade of blue would work, royal blue would stand out without being too garish.

My ginge has a deep burgandy/wine colour with cream browband, and a burgandy fleece show rug with gold lettering. I like it as i usually do dressage in my tweed, and a nice burgandy stock goes well with my jacket. trying to get matchy matchy for xc colours too.

mine is red and white - she has currently a red HKM saddle cloth under her roller.... kinda suits her but draws my eyes to that rather than HER.

so ive concluded baby blue or white.............!

for showing.... i think again baby blue browband! or silver.......! :)

I think it depends on the shade of ginger but green and gold would be a safe choice I feel. I think you need to match the 'darkness' of the colour (technical term!) e.g a dark chestnut would look better in a darker blue whereas a lighter chestnut like my haffy could better pull off baby blue... I think a touch of gold helps tie the colours in nicely :-)

Mine only suits navy, i've tried some horrific combos! I have gold and cream in mine with the navy for velvet browbands.
