What calmer do you use and why?

I have one of my mares on a calmer but I am not 100% it is working as it did when I first used it on her...

So I thought I would ask what others use and why they chose this particular calmer?

I tried Blue Chip Karma this summer with a new mare - not sure what impact it had, if any, as she's a new horse to me and a little green, but she did love the taste of it, which was helpful to get her to eat up at shows!!

Rescue remedy, 1/2 tubelet a day and makes the world of difference stops the spooking without completley zonking the horse out.

We use magicalm in feed and paste. we only feed the week before we are competing and then back up with half a tube of paste on the morning of comp.

We did try a herbal calmer but the amount of times he urinated was quite disturbing.

Equine America Magnitude, doesn't taste of anything, is accepted by all horses and ponies including those who turn their noses up at calmers with extra ingredients. It means I can use one product for all the horses which keeps life simple and as a bonus is reasonably priced.

I use the Nupafeed magnesium calmer. Chosen as it is the first one I have used that has seemed to make a difference. Although I also started to feed Coligone at the same time so that could also be making a difference.

I feed the calmer as my horse is quite nervy and spooky. I also have a feeling he may have ulcers, hence feeding Coligone (getting him scoped next month). I have been feeding these for about a month now and everyone that handles him has said he has definately chilled out a bit!

I too use Nupafeed MAH Calmer. Definate difference in my horse ! I couldn't hack him out without the obligatory standing on his hind legs just because he wanted to be in charge (yes got everything sorted!) He hasn't lost his spark, but there is no more spookiness and bouncing on the stop out hacking! Tried other things before this and nothing seemed to work!

I use Global Herbs Thoroughbred calmer (no magnesium) as Equine America's Magnitude made him worse! So predicted it might be a magnesium thing, and he is much better on the new calmer. Hasn't lost his sparkle, just gone back to being my summer horse, and so much less anxious than he was at the beginning of Autumn.

As per MickeyMoo - he did wee a lot more when he first went on it but it seems a few weeks in, it is getting back to normal!

So Kalm PLus daily powder and recently discovered Super Kalm which although expensive is really great if they're total nutters at shows.
L-Tryptophan seems to be the key ingredient for my boy.
I know ther's plenty of research saying it does nothing, there's also people who hate it. But it appears to work wonders on my lad and he suffers no ill effects from it.
Only concern is a)it's expensive and b) I think cumulative so the more you give the more you have to give to have an effect.

We'll I've been tempted to use the one called 'the silver bullet' but I decided it might relax him a little too much.

Equimins Serenity but I also have to use the Global Herbs Rig Calm (obviously the latter is for different reasons ) but they both work hand in hand and keep my lad sane....well rideable shall we say.

Someone on our yard has used HF Relax Me, they were very pleased with the results but nothing I've tried on a horse myself.

I used Super Calm on a very nervous pony, it worked really well for him and made him much easier to handle and deal with. At one time I changed him onto Magic calmer as I could not get the super calm and couldn't catch him for 3 days so straight back onto the super calm after that!

Relax Me for the horse who's on Box rest & it really is the only product that works for him.

The other 2 im trying standard Mag Ox & Brewers yeast on them.

ProSportive Chill, started my youngster on it earlier in the year when i began backing her. It also has all vits/mins in that she needs too and works out alot cheaper than other calmers i have previously used. She is a lot more chilled but this may be down to her growing up etc.

We've used Magi-Calm on a daily basis as well as the Instant but have also used the Equine Science Biscuits for special occasions, I have to say the seemed to work for our horse but they are too expensive to give every day.

Cheap as chips and I will be trying it next year when I take Dixie out..
