hi everyone.

i have a client who is having to have one of her horses put to sleep tomorrow...

i wanted to get her something to remember him by... i was going to give his tail a little trim and perhaps having it plaited into a browband or something.....

can you think of any other ideas?? or anyone know where and how much that will cost???

thanks.

When I had my mare PTS, another livery gave me some pink roses. Everytime I see pink roses it reminds me of my mare which is very nice. A friend of mine had a horse PTS recently I sent her some lillies with a personal note. i heard she was very touched. I thing this is a nice gesture.

when i friends horse died i made a keep sake box for her. got a wooden box engraved with his name and put some mane hair , a shoe and a photo of him in it didn't cost much about 20 for the box she was so touched . and when my fave horse ( who i had on loan) died my dad had one of his shoes silver plated and mounted which was so touching.

What a nice gesture. When my old horse was PTS, my livery friends got me some lovely flowers and a card. It really helped and I was touched they cared so much.

I think plants are nice, because they come up every year and are a living reminder. I planted some snowdrops for my old boy (he was a grey) and I love seeing them come up at the end of winter.

I still wear a locket with a lock of tail in from my JA pony who went off show jumping in the sky back in October 2000. Somehow it always makes me feel better knowing that I have a little bit of Sovy with me at all times, especially if I'm about to jump a hefty jump!
