My little TB, who went on loan for 5 mins last spring, and I considered selling is still with me. I think fate has intervened here and we'll be together forever - which is good, I do love her to pieces.
Two weeks ago Friday she did to me what I suspect she did to the loan woman, went crazy on a hack, spinning, bucking, mini rears hen reversed at high spped into a hedge/ditch. She then turned her head a few times and eyeballed me, telling me in no uncertain terms somethig had gone horribly wrong. I led her 3 miles home.
I contacted my vet on the Saturday, who came out, checked her for lameness etc (she isn't lame) took blood to test for muscular damage (which I didn't know you could do) and put her on a high bute dose for the week.
Blood tests came back clear, and she's been a spring chicken on the bute. She was keeping her back feet almost flat to the floor in a tight circle and pivoting on them, she's now picking them up like a ballet dancer.
The Vet is coming back tomorrow, I just wondered if anyone had any experience of horse back issues. Last time I had a series of McTimoney sessions which seemed to do the trick, this time however with it not being muscular I was wondering what comes next, and what to expect.
She's 15, and ex-racer, ex PTP, ex hunter, and hadn't been particularly well cared for before I bought her. Very worried, she's a dear little thing.
