As title really ..

My mare came down with acute laminitus about 3 weeks ago, shes now almost sound going out in a pen for a few hours a day and her pulses are alot weaker. Shes definatly getting better as shes going back to her normal stress head prancing to the field self. Shes coped with the box rest ok until now as she was subdued a bit with the pain i think but now shes starting to stress again.
Shes one of these ponies that stresses and stresses until she gets spasmodic colic. She turns every little thing into a massive stressy mess (i do love her really ) So id like to be able to give her a treat ball to reduce her stress a bit and give her somthing to do.

Would pony nuts be ok to give her now? Shes just been having a handful of hi-fi lite morning and night for her bute and sedalin to go in and soaked hay. If not if there anything else that would fit in a treat ball like this one that i can put in ..

Try Spillers High Fibre Cubes. They are small enough to come out of the holes!! I did try Badminton Horse feeds Nuggets but they wouldn't come out and my horse just gave up, likewise a pasture mix refused to come out too!! Be careful you don't give her a swede or carrots, apples etc I have learned by my many mistakes with laminitis. What about a small stable mirror to keep her company Good Luck it sounds like you are winning :):):)

I feed my laminitic Blue Chip lami lite and this goes in her treat ball rather than a bucket. She gets her joint supplement and any bute in her hifi lite. Personally I prefer not to give any extra pony nuts, even high fibre ones. (My pony is not overweight).

I use a snack a ball too for a good doer if he has to stay in. I like to use something like happyhoof, healthy hooves, or any chaff type feed that has pellets added. I find the chaff slows down the rate at which the cubes come out so it lasts a lot longer. I've also used cereal free nuts with unmolassed chaff.
