what category licence would i need?

I'm thinking of buying a Lorry, big enough to carry 3 and pref with some living. I'm 22, passed test in 2003. What type of licence do i need to have? The internet is no help so i've turned to you guys!!!!

You will either need a cat C1 which is a 7.5 ton, or as your over 21 a cat C which is an LGV (HGV). Both test + lessons cost about the same price.

Realistically you'd be best to do the Cat C - old HGV test. Then you can drive anything rigid up to 32 tonnes or thereabouts! Then if you want a lorry that really has space for 3 horses and decent living you can go for 10t or more.
