Because I have two "good doers" i use HiFi Lite, but quite frankly the horses don't like it and Fly always snorts in it and blows it away! What is a really nice yummy chaff that i can feed along side his working mix (he needs something for energy as works hard) but that is a bit more interesting and not so dry? I add Superflex 5* and fresh apples daily.

Dodson & Horrell Fibergy chaff. It's got mint in it, mine love it and I don't find it hard to get hold of even though it's not one of the most well known types. I have 2 good doers too (NF Ponies) and they are fine on it, one also with what I suspect is a sugar/molasses intolerance and he has no reaction to it, whereas happy hoof sent him loopy.

I remember a nutritionist at a feed seminar saying that most chaffs are rubbish, have very little nutritional value and are full of sugar....have to say that mollichaff was one of those although I think they have a new(ish) one out that is better.

I use alfa lite - it's an acquired taste IMO because it isn't full of molasses but if the ponies choose not to eat it, then that's their choice! They're fat enough without me giving them something they don't need.

Mine love their green gold (alfa a) and lucie stalks - (stalks from lucrene) from simple systems. I do feed it damped down with a few carrots.

I have also used Dengi Good Doer which has mint in it the past, again damped down.

In summer I used water and in winter sloppy speedibeet but mine are not at all fussy with their grub.
