What Christmas present did you get your horse?

I bought my stallion a Space Hopper! Thinking that, as he was fond of throwing feed buckets about, he would enjoy throwing it about - wrong. I took his rug off so if he went mad with it he wouldn't be too hot. He was bored, yawned, showed mild interest, had a good scratch, but didn't want to know! Ah well it might be good for the figure - but top tip - don't try bouncing on it in the snow! It just slips out from under you! It now has its own stable at the back of the barn.

Perhaps he thought he might burst it if he sat on it?! He's very handsome, even when he looks bored!

My girls had their annual dentist visit at the beginning of November. By the time I'd bought non-edible bedding to put in the day before (so as not to have to dig all the straw out first thing in the morning!) paid the vet to sedate the 3 of them and wait around, than vaccinate one of them, give her a pain killing injection (she had a tooth out) plus antibiotic and pain killing powders and paid the dentist, I'd spent £500! So that was their Christmas present! Although I did weaken and get them a Paddock Likit to share and a box of sugar lumps (The only time of year they get them!)

our baby had a name plate for her stable and they shared a bag of herbal treats and a bottle of guiness in their breakfast feed. my mare also had a new salt lick as she loves them.

An extra carrot in his tea..i'm such a cruel mum I have since ordered him a fleece cooler and brushing boots - not that he'll care!

I got mine a visit from the vet and a visit to the vet for his (presumed) arthritic hocks.

although still waiting to be able to get out the farm to get him to the vet.

jw saddle cloth and just ordered a nice jw bridle and over reach boots but ill there not important ill buy them when i remeber and a large swede and parnips apples and carrots and a whole strip off mints in her hay

this is what we did too - Tom sniffed his, picked it out of his trough and threw it onto the yard Ron scoffed his in 5 minutes flat , and then got Tom's in the trough the next day

they also enjoyed Parsnips (which they loved), carrots (only 2nd favourite after the parsnips, possibly because they were frozen tho from being outside), and a piece of cabbage leaf (not terribly popular, but Ron still ate his).

Thank you - I think he is lovely - this is what he looks like when he isn't yawning - this is mild interest (in the space hopper!)......

Sorry about the tide-mark round the neck! That's the problem with having a white horse!

For those who have spent money on vet bills - same here. This chap had a sudden onset of high temp, high respiratory rate, emergency vet job, then the next day his son had got kicked and had a huge lump in front of his stifle!!! Poor old credit card.
