I have recently bought a 2 year old lipizzaner,called Banner :)
I have only ever had Welshies and all i do really is Ridden/In hand showing and few fun rides and small jumping classes.
But i have no idea what showing classes i could take the lovely Banner in he has very nice movement/conformation but i just don't know does he count as a sports horse? ;)

Wow your so lucky owning a Lipizzaner, is he trained at all?
I guess you could take him in rare breeds classes, although you do''nt see many of them. You can always do the standard best turned out/ stable kept/ best conditioned classes etc, just to get him out and about.
I cant think of any other classes though, have you contacted his breed society?

Locally, youngstock, best condition, turnout etc also there are more and more Foreign Breed classes both locally and county level.

I know i bought him from a friend who bred him and i just couldn't say no :)
Hes done bits and bobs nothing really major but he takes everything in his stride he is very calm which is very strange for me having only had fire breathing welshies
They only seem to have the rare breeds classes a specific shows that always seem to be miles away :( but hopefully they will bring more our way.
I didn't think of best cond classes etc they would be good for him

Heres a pic of him :D hes very sweet hes gone even more grey and his mane is .... long and curly ;)

ooo he is very lush isnt he!

Maybe foreign breeds subsection pinkiest nose :-)))) (red rosette and cup)

My haflinger is only eligible for foreign breeds and also sometimes 'coloured' classes if they include pally (<sneaks in even tho Haffies are chestnut w flaxen m/tail, not pally>)

But def also best condition. And also lots of shows have 'Driving type' classes which are in hand, could do well there too.

Love your horse. The Spanish Championship Show at Hartpury, July 21-22, has classes for related breeds, including Lippies, ridden and in hand, plus open classes for all Iberians, including dressage, and a versatility class which includes a jump. It's a lovely, friendly show, great facilities for horses & humans - student accommodation on site close to the stables - and the social side is terrific. Well worth saving up to go - it's my annual holiday!!! See the BAPSH web site. Good luck and enjoy your lovely horse.
