Personally? I would be doing dressage with him - he's lovely :)

Sorry, not much help if you want to show :o

What about Riding Horse or Riding Club Horse?

*still thinks he would do fab at dressage tho :D

You really need a plainer bridle for showing. A flat hunter style noseband and then depending upon the class either a velvet browband or a plain flat one.

If you can't wear long boots the smart gaiters are acceptable but the stretchy half chaps aren't. Having said that at local level you will see all sorts and will just move down the line if you aren't 100% spot on.

I would wear a navy hat rather than black or you could have brown to match your tweed.

You will need a show cane (very cheap to pick up)and gloves.

You need to have him either in a plain snaffle, a pelham or a double.

He is very smart and whilst you can do turn out classes you could also do riding horse, riding club horse and at local level probably a hunter class and a working hunter class too. For riding horse classes you would have a velvet browband, for hunter it would be plain. Otherwise the turnout is the same. Riding club classes you turn out to type so there will be a mix of hacks, riding horses, hunters, and cobs.

He is stunning. I would think he could do very well in riding horse classes as suggested above - without the white kit, with you in tweed and with a plainer bridle you should be right on the money. Coloured browbands are correct for riding horse classes (plain for working hunter which you could also do at local level) and he's such a gorgeous colour you can have real fun choosing colours. Gloves should be brown (even with black boots).

More pictures of him in his show kit please :D
