What Classes?

Hi all

I have some experience showing my last horse as a middleweight show hunter who was a classic bay hunter type. I'm now thinking of buying a coloured (bay and white) gelding who has quite minimal markings. I can't recall seeing coloured horses in the hunter classes I used to do but thought possibly I'd just not noticed! Does anyone out there have experience of showing coloured hunters? Any thoughts whether this one might make a lightweight hunter?

I'm also thinking about coloured classes but unsure whether his minimal markings might be an issue. Any experience anyone would be willing to share would be great :)

Here's a link to a pic of him: https://instagram.com/p/8gyImdOjgm1QJSnaTppf2Lg0iH7V5URBol1jE0/

Thanks in advance :)

He is an attractive horse but will not be liked by most hunter judges as he is coloured there have been very few successful at county level, mainly because they are usually not true hunter type, the colour comes from bloodlines outside of the normal breeding for show hunters, tb's and ID xs being the most popular breeds, at local level he would be fine, it is hard to really tell from that photo but to me he looks more riding horse than hunter, he can do coloured classes the markings are not as relevant as everything else, if his main job is dressage and the showing is a bonus it would not put me off if he ticks all the other boxes.
