Usual problem, too much choice, I have used my Dextella clippers which have worked great for years, they are still working, but I am worried due to age and use of them packing up mid clip, so on the hunt for some new ones, whats everyone buying at the moment ?

I'd recommend Masterclip, had my Rangers for about 8 years an still going strong. Saw a newer pair the other day and they're slightly less bulky now too.

Just this morning my Yak has had his heavily feathered legs clipped with Heiniger cordless. I am very impressed, they powered through the foot deep hair/dander/crud like a knife through butter. Very quiet as well.

I bought a set of these second hand a few years ago, best clippers I have ever used especially with A1's on for carthorse coarse coats. The only thing I would say about them is they are bulky if you have small hands and the head is bulky for getting into pasterns. I could do with a scaled down set for legs, elbows and heads.

Another vote for Heiniger cordless. Couldn't be without them, especially when it comes to trimming the VERY hairy legs I have to contend with.

I bought some second hand heiniger cordless this winter. They have come off a dairy farm, so have been fairly battered, but bought a set of fine blades and they have sailed through my horses coats. Sooo much easier to use cordless. Yes they are a bit bulky. But the new version - the xplorers- are much more slimlined. I was just too tight to pay for them! But highly recommend the cordless, and as far as clippers go they are quite quiet.

Yeah the Heiniger xplorers (cordless) are absolutely by far the best clippers I've used in 40 years of clipping horses.

Only problem is, and there's a thread on here about it somewhere, the bloke at their customer care is absolutely horrible, definitely in the wrong job! However, hopefully you won't need to have contact with him, and anyway I suspect if you did you'd hold your own OP :D
