What color will yearling be?

He was born bay, but as gradually darkened out to a very dark brown, last winter he was jet black with a brown nose, this summer he has lots of flecks of brown in his coat, light brown muzzle, round his eyes is the same as is his stifle area he now has black mane with almost frazzled orangey bits through the ends
I thought DARK BAY, but not sure with his highlights
He is going through his ugly duckling stage at the moment but hoping he will blossom into a swan

He is a welsh D. His sire is bay, dam dark bay, full sister also a bay.

I reckon dark bay. loving the highlights, did you do them yourself?

do you think the mane will go that bleached color? looks like someone hasnt left the bleach on long enough

Nope thats a baby thing - it will just grow out. My lad is the same he was born very bright bay then went very dark and now is dark bay with lighter dapples and black legs. He turned one on tuesday!

He is dark bay, he will also probably keep the roan fleck in him. The mane is just sun bleached and you can either pull it to get rid of it or trim it off. The only way to stop it happening again is to put the horse in a UV Fly rug all summer so the sun can't get to it.
