I always thought he was cremello.I thought Thowra was a double dilute, and many of his family too - he favoured the same colour mares, and double dilute to double dilute gives a double dilute foal.
He definitely wasn't grey, and I didn't think he was palomino... Maybe I need to re-read the books too... What a shame - it's not to be a child again and get lost in that world, it's research
ETA: Just found some exerpts from the first few pages of the first book - cream colour with silver mane and tail - in my mind he'll always be a double dilute though, even though I now know he was really a palomino!
