AGGHHHH!

My friend is buying a lovely Dark TB mare with a few white flashes on her nose and one leg.

Very pretty but she just lots of fun comps etc and is looking to invest in some decent tack.. but what colour?

I say black, she likes tan or brown but we have no pictures and cannot find any to compare to?

What do you all use and have you any pics?

Thanks guys.

Depends what you want to do .... for showing should be brown .... but then I have black as I have a piebald and brown would look horrible on him.

She does abit of everything, some fun shows some competeitive jumping etc.

She just wants something that 'sets off' the colour of her new mare nicely. I think Tan is abit too light and too contrasting but havana brown would be ok.. anyone got any pictures?

she is extremely dark bay/almost black.

dark havana looks good on everything. i never buy any other colour, so all my tack matches, at least! i think tan tack looks cheap and nasty, and black used to be used to disguise cheaper leathers, and i can't ever get that out of my head!

I have black tack for my mare, though she isn't as dark as she used to be. I'm not a fan of brown leather though for some reason.

Ben is dark bay and his tack is brown.
I prefer brown tack but its personal preference.

Its all down to personal taste. I would never have brown tack on any colour of horse.

G has black dressage tack and dark brown/havanna 'hacking' tack.

Both look good, I personally prefer the black, the Stubben saddle I have is dark brown and tan and whilst the tan is fine in small amounts any more would look a bit garish.

A nice dark havanna bridle would look nice.
That's what I have for my mare & she is a bright chestnut.

Hate tan as I think it looks cheap & plasticy & black never seems to look as nice, plus it's the main colour used for economy leather & so it puts me off. Completely agree with Kerilli there.

I think it's personal preference tbh but dark havanna would bring out her colouring I think.
