I have a very good doer who is stabled at night and gets a handful or 2 of dengie good doer in the eve as well as a small holed haynet. last week i found my treat ball after having a sort out and i was just wondering what people put in their treat balls if they have good doers? i dont paticularly want to buy a whole seperate bag of food just to put a little in each night, are there any low-sugar treats or something? thanks :)

Your chaff and a chopped apple or carrot :)

My guys get conditioning cubes in theirs but they are poor doers. The pegasus cubes are quite good if wanting a cube to go in. I got a bag off a friend and the horses fair cleared the up :)

Badminton hifibre complete nuggets. Suitable for laminitics and fattys! My cushings boy loves them, and they are harder to get out than most pellet feeds as they are nuggets. They come out easy enough but dont pour out like some pellets do, takes them longer as only 3 or 4 come out on each treat ball turn (in oval treat balls and decahedron :)). It is a whole bag of feed though not huge bags- heavy but you get through nuggets relatively fast- and have a good life span and work out much cheaper than buying treats etc :).

When my mare was in, she had her breakfast in her treat ball to keep her occupied. When she does just have it as a treat she has either some mix or some chaff. If she's lucky she gets a few apple flavour treats mixed in with whatever else is in it, but that's not often :)
