Hi,
Have a cob who when we went up yesterday evening was not himself, very quiet & head low as can be, we put his head collar on to take him to some grass & he was reluctant to walk.
When he did, his hind left leg is stiff/lame, he can walk on it but REALLY doesn't want to. Kept pointing his hoof on the floor. Between a few of us we came to the conclusion it was an abscess. We put a poultice on & had the farrier out first thing this morning who's now confirmed it's not an abscess.
Now, no-one knows what it is, we've put another poultice on to try & help & are leaving him to rest it for a few hours before going back up.
Does anyone have any idea's what it can be? It's not locking stifle & nor is it anything on up upper leg, hence why we came to the conclusion of abscess in the hoof. He was castrated 4/5 weeks ago now but has been PERFECT since & we've been walking him inhand as advised by the vet (she also came to check on him on monday & said how well he was healing)
TIA x
