As per title, have treated myself to some new Pikeurs, Cavallos and a pair of Euro-Star breeches and want to look after them. I used to buy a special detergent but can't remember what it was called - seen online Mattes Melp is recommended, but would Fairy be ok, if its ok for babies?!

All my breeches are pikeur lagunas with full seats... I have never used special detergents? Just normal surf liquid and fabric softener, and usually a scoop of vanish with the white ones, have always washed really well and still look good as new?

I use normal bio washing powder like Persil or Ariel for my Pikeurs - Candela and Lugana Never had a problem. They are synthetic seats.

My last pair of Pikeurs went nobbly & wrinkled, and I wondered if it was the detergent or spin drying them too much? So thought I'd see what you guys do? Having just spent a small fortune I want them to last.

Thanks :o)

I use Fairy non bio and I read somewhere that you shouldn't use fabric softener on full seat breeches.

I use dreft or woolite .
If leather seated ones that are going hard can be improved by rubbing fabric softener into them before a gentle wash.
