Our day not so good, our horses are lame & just in walking work so had a short walking hack. But was nice being able to spend time with them without worrying about time / work etc.
i) in case poo goes in wrong receptacle
ii) in case sozzled poo pickers start a poo fight
Today I hacked my 4 yo Haflinger out with another horse and mucked out 2 and poo picked and took burrs out of the muddy forelock of my IDxTB. Now I am relaxing!
Well my older TB was lame yesturday and has got a foot abcess. Did a mad dash to the local shop to get poltice amd vet wrap ay 4pm. Today policed 3 times, mucked out twice. Fed my mums New Forest and fed and brushed my 6 yr old TB. Was not up to riding as have had a grotty cold since Friday and feel like my head is going to explode. So not a good 1st day so far.
The only god thing is that my boyfriend now has the same cold and wants sympathy (which I have been given none of when I felt worse) and its my birthday tomorrow. So my planned late start at work has worked out brilliantly except that I will not be laying in bed opening presents as planned but up the yard doing a smelly poltice. GREAT !!!!!!
mate, you should have done, as just up the road from you now, you could have seen y.o new sheland only 5 months old no biger than tom thumb..LOL
here's the pic...arhhhhh
have you my mobile ???? Do you hack out my way, on the common
I got up at 7am to ride out with my friend, but it was pooring down
so I went back to bed for a bit, then spent the afternoon mucking out, feeding and bringing in five horses. I'm now drinking pink champagne and making roast pork for supper
Lucky you. After doing the usual turning out, putting on horse walker, mucking out, rugging and feeding all 15 horses, then turned our hand to DIY - taking the partition down between two large stables to make a foaling box. Once that was done, been spending the past couple of hours scrubbing and disinfecting, hoping it will be dry enough tomorrow to put a bed down. With the first foal due in literally days now, can't afford to relax until the work is done. Just come in now - checking emails and off for a shower and then something to eat! What a day and it's not finished yet, as all our horses then get an 11pm feed and their final 2am check before the day starts again with breakfast at 6am. Happy New Year to you all and all of you who have foals due this year, hope it all goes well.
Having got in at 4.30am, I had 2 and a half hours sleep before going to feed and turn out my horse and my friend's horse. I went back to bed at 8am and have spent the rest of the day under my duvet!
