At the moment I am establishing boundries with my now 15hh 18 month old plus a bit of waving shavings bags ( last night he took it off me and shook it back at me so I think we've cracked that one ! )
I did some showing with him last year and he is already trailer trained and bitted - He'll do a few of the bigger shows this year and next between eating grass and I wan't to start walking him out on the road too
Mum has never been the most confident out on her own so I'd like to crack that one too at some point
.I have had lots of youngsters. I always started with basic manners then takin them on walks on the road, then lungein, long reinin, bittin and tackin up, then I would start slowly breaking them in turn them away then bring them back into work , I also train my current ponies tricks as they can't be ridden . Also free lungin
got little girl when she was 6 months old (now 6) gosh how time has flown by.... from the start to the day she started being ridden i faffed about with her.... if theres was poo picking to do i took her with me she came and helped in jumping lessons helping me put the jumps up and away, we went for walks round the woods etc up the roads, anything and everything, walked along with bags, kicking footballs anything we could think of, loading, washing, games in the school, she was a dog for 3 years now shes fab! backing was just another faff i did with her in her brain he thought nothing of it, manners kinda followed as she learnt the boundries early on
