Well its a long story but here goes again my little lady has high articular ringbone but this cause very little problem it has pretty much fused she also has arthritic changes in her coffin joint had steriod injection last Dec been sound ever since full work doing everything until 6 weeks ago when she went very slightly lame again vet decided she was a very good candidate for Irap was still on the insurance then so said lets give it a try. So had two IRAP injections now rested and vet came out today and no change no more lame no less lame was a new vet today as old one has left (very sad) anyway he said not many horses would be sound lungeing on a circle on hard ground not helpful but anyway i was un happy to go ahead with 3rd IRAP injection as I didnt feel it was working for her he suggested if she was his he would do steriod injection again as it worked so well last time but it would mean we would probably have to inject every year and eventually it wont work for her any more. So after all that I dont know what too do if I go with the steriod am I prolonging the inevatable or am I giving her the best life I can while we have time and make that horrible decision x amount of years down the line. Its so hard I have so many thoughts going through my head cant stop crying at the moment she is happy and full of beans and only 1/10 lame it seems unfair just needed to off load and if any ones been here how did you decide/ cope. Sorry its so long thanks for reading x
