Poorly foal at work showing signs of strangles. Under vet treatment. Keep fingers firmly crossed for him. (he is my favourite.)
I have now popped home, all clothes in washing machine. I have to go to do mine now, but what do I do? Scrub wellies? Wear a different coat? Will my stuff in the back of my car now be infected?

When there was a strangles outbreak in our area my YM said that if we were to visit any other yard in the area regardless of wether the strangles was on the yard or not we where told to go home and take a shower, clean and change our clothes before coming to the yard. We where then not allowed to park our car on the yard (had to park on the road) until the outbreak was over. We also had to dunk our feet in disinfectant when entering and leaving the yard.

Did you touch any of the things in your car? If not I'm guessing they would be ok. But then for now it might to best to take them out of your car for now and disinfect them.

I hope the little foaly is ok!

You will also need to disinfect your car tyres, and possibly footwell if your boots you wore home were in contact with the environment of the foal

Anything you were wearing must be disinfected, either washing machine or bucket of disinfectant and a good scrub.

If you haven't touched the stuff in the back of the car it should be fine

Keep a pack of hand disinfectant wipes with you at all times when dealing with foal..... Also get a big bucket of disinfectant outside of his stable..... Dip before you enter and after leaving
