Went to ride last night and horse is lame. The only thing I can find on her leg is a cut near her hoof she's had for a bit and I treated and left and it scabbed over, but as field muddy wonder if it's turned into a bit of mud fever.

I have a big show sat sj and then trailblazers champs next week. I brought her in last night and turned her out today, but I'm thinking whether or not I should leave her in tonight and tomorrow?

She really doesn't like being left in and sometimes ends up with small cuts as she gets stressed, but I'm thinking she needs to be away from the mud and she always gallops up to her friends when I turn her out and then sometimes canters about in the field.

What do you think?

If she is lame and you don't know why, perhaps you should call the vet. They can advise you what to do regarding turn out etc. I would think if you were to turn her out to make sure that you cover the effected area, or use a barrier.
