So, rather rashly I have said I'd do one of these at Keysoe.

What do I wear. Is it jacket for dressage and then colours for the showjumping and xc part or jacket for all or what?

If I have to wear xc colours what do I do. I don't own anything remotely coordinated of course and I do'nt want to spend any money! :p

I don't think I own anything black either  All my jumpers have hoods and I'm assuming that really isn't going to cut it! Perhaps OH has something I can pinch?

Sadly my offer didn't extend to clothes :p however I have a saddlecloth (fs) and a hat cover, both black and gold all you'd need is a black long sleeved top to go under your BP and you'll be away :)

Phew! I thought you'd gone quite mad and were seriously suggesting I somehow squeeze into something you could wear! I wouldn't be able to breathe! lol

Ooh, do you want a groom/photographer? :)

I'd like to see what's involved, with a view to taking Charlie in the future.

Not sure what you should wear, but I could probably kit you and BH out in sweatshirt/numnah/boots all in navy if needed.

I've done arena xc in a hoodie before - though it probably is in breach of some H&S rule  Wouldn't a long sleeved t-shirt or something do under your bp?

Puppy, of course you can come if you like :) I am bumming a lift with someone, natch, but I am also trying to get Dee O' Dorant to bring her chap so perhaps there will be lots of us! Think K (who I think you've met?) is bringing her new grey pony too.

I think I'll just go to Primarni and buy a blue longsleeved t shirt and that'll do. I have a blue hat silk somewhere and my bp is blue so we'll be close enough. No point looking smart as I'm going to make a prize tit of myself anyway!

Cool beans :) is this next weekend then? Which day?

If you need to borrow anything blue let me know - I buy nearly everything for the horses in blue & must have a numnah in every shade imaginable!

If its sj then straight to 'xc' then you will need your xc type gear on. A long sleeve top under your bp will be fine - dont diss the primarni! Ive done BE in a navy blue longsleeve tight top from primarni and I think it looks very smart! I think understated is the way to go with xc gear cant be doing with all these stars and spots!

from experience last weekend most people SJ'd in their XC stuff but some people wore a jacket for the dressage and then the same for SJ and XC. Look at the picture from last weekend on horsepower photography and it will show you what people wore:D

I thought you were after me for 31st, not 5th. Supposed to be SJing with John Adams on the 5th:D

Did one at Keysoe recently.

You do your dressahe in the new event arena down accross the fiels, allwaether warm up and comp surface. Dress jacket etc for you, dressage legal tack for neddy (BE rules so you can use a grackle, but can't use a whip)

Then you have a break will possibly have time to watch and walk the course.

SJ is in large side of indoor, sj warm up in small side. You jump at approx your time then go straight outside into another collecting ring where there will be a xc jump. you have time to pop this once or twice and move the horse up a gear. Then straight into xc in the remainder of their huge outdoor. Fences are all solid and inviting. They start at 10cm below the class height and build up.

You will need to do all the jumping in the same tack as no time to change. You will need to wear your BP (over your sweatshirt, it's safer) and some sort of long sleeved sweatshirt. You won't have to be mega wrapped up as you can mostly wait inside. Hoodies are not usually worh as the hood can get caught on trees etc when going xc, although in the arena it's not a problem.

Don't worry about matchy matchy, our horses always wear a black or white saddle pad and B wears her XC tor or a thin coat if it's really cold.
