My fairly new horse has a occult sarcoid on his face and it has decreased in size since I got him in March with no treatment (vet said to leave it if it seems to be clearing up) and no previous treatment in his previous homes.
I am now wondering what they look like when they first start to form.
I have noticed a patch of black fur on his face that I havn't noticed before so beginning to worry that it may be the start of one. Thanks

My ned had a couple of suspicious looking patches a year or more ago jf. He'd already had an earlier suspicious looking crusty thing removed by the vets with x 4 applications (few days apart) of Liverpool cream, done by the vet. But I'd heard such good things about Thuja that I ordered some and applied that. His suspicious looking patches cleared up within a week or 2 and no further recurrence. Now, it could easily be that they WEREN'T sarcoids in the first place but the fact remains that whatever they were, they've gone after Thuja cream at 30c potency. If your ned was mine, I'd defo apply Thuja. If it didn't seem to be helping - especially if there was crusty oozing and signs of it getting worse - I'd get the vets in. I got my Thuja from Paws4health and they were excellent. Good luck x

Thank you

When we bought our pony he very quickly developed a sarcoid on his eyelid. I then noticed a perfectly round bald patch like a 2p on his belly and another clearly defined patch of alopecia on the inside of his hind gaskin, here the skin was grainy and rough. Pony had BCG treatment to the eye which completely cleared and hasnt returned. Over the 9 months of treatment the other patches completely disappeared.??! I personally think that the stress of changing homes had stimulated the growth of something which is dormant in him- thats just my opinion.
