ok here's a wee question for ya, i have found a really nice pony for sale, and its ideal for what i'm looking for atm, just general hacking and fun. but its only 12.2hh, it could carry me easily as it literally a mini cob.

so my question is would you ever buy a small pony if it sounded perfect??

i'm 17 and i feel like i really should move onwards and upwards, but i just love ponies!!!! it a nice wee stocky mare an for now could be something i could have alot of fun on.

TBH I wouldnt but then I am out competing quite a bit and seeing me (5"10 and 17yrs old) on a 12.2hh may look wierd

But if it does everything you want to and you wont squish it (dont take that the wrong way) go for it!!

lol the person ho rides her just now is alot older than me and is the same height, and she look fine on her, i'm not very interested in competeing or anything so it might be worth a wee look at some point

It depends what you want to do on the pony. If you want to do competitions every week then I would suggest something a couple of hands bigger, if you just want to have fun and can get away with a 12.2 then why not? One of my good friends has a 13.2 cob that is fantastic, does area team XC and SJ and is worth her weight in gold. If you are only tiny yourself then there is no reason why you should need to over horse yourself on something bigger.

if you look ok on her and if your only going to have fun and hack out then I dont see why not, Im only 8st but have the longest legs in the world! I really miss having a pony so enjoy it while you can!
