What do vettings cost these days?

Does anybody have an idea what sort of costs are involved for a standard vetting and a five star. Might be looking into getting a horse (fingers crossed).

Also has anyone not bothered with a vetting? A couple of people that I know didnt and they haven`t had any probs, just lucky I guess!!

Any advice from you lovely people would be most appreciated!

I have paid £120 and £150 for a five star vetting.

5 stage vetting - approx £225-250. But do ask first - a friend of mine didn't and the vet charged £450 and the horse failed

The practice will be happy to give you a rough idea of cost beforehand. In this day and age, it is a good idea to get a vetting - even if it is just a 2 stage. What sort of horse are you looking for and what do you hope to do with him/her?
